CareerSafe Interviewed on Worldwide Business with kathy ireland®

College Station, TX - December 16, 2015 - CareerSafe participated in an opportunity to be featured on Worldwide Business with kathy ireland® this past Sunday, December 13, 2015 on the Fox Business Network. CareerSafe was chosen to take part in an interview based on innovations in workplace safety training which included an onsite field report at Mahoning County Career and Technical Center in Ohio.

CareerSafe’s Founder and CEO, Dr. Larry D. Teverbaugh, spoke about the need for workplace safety training for youth and how young workers have the highest injury and fatality rates among any other age group. Teverbaugh founded CareerSafe in response to the concern that many young workers are not receiving the training they need to remain safe in the workplace. Teverbaugh continues, “No job, no matter how well it pays, should place a young worker at risk of injury, illness or death.”

CareerSafe took an innovative approach to workplace safety training to create a program that has the potential to reach students in all aspects of life regardless of their socioeconomic status, where they live, go to school or work. With an interactive, online format, access to the training is available anywhere, anytime with an internet connection.

Teverbaugh explains, “We chose an online format based on the premise that young people communicate, interact and learn online. Our audience has grown up in a world where a level of online interactivity is a normal part of everyday life. Through our innovative “Youth-to-Youth” design; we are able to engage workers on a more relatable level that helps them conceptualize workplace safety as a lifelong priority.”

CareerSafe is making great progress in educating young workers about workplace safety. To date, CareerSafe has trained over 600,000 students nationwide. Help support CareerSafe’s message, No Job is Worth a Young Worker’s Life, and share this segment in order to continue making a difference in young worker safety. On behalf of young workers across the country, thank you for advocating for safety awareness.
